Paint Palette Cake

This chocolate and vanilla whipped frosting cake was for a 10-year-old girl who loves art. The drips were white chocolate ganache colored red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. The paint palette was made with colored fondant that wasn't completely mixed in with the brown food coloring to give it a wood resemblance. The "paint" was dollops of colored frosting. The paintbrush was a stick of pocky covered in white and grey fondant. I used a knife to mark the texture on the bristles and, to further accentuate it, I brushed the bristles with a little bit of cocoa powder and water. Lastly, I placed everything on top of the cake -- I dipped the paintbrush in pink because it was the birthday girl's favorite color!
